Sword Polishing Guidance
Practical instruction and advice for hobbyist Japanese sword polishers
Service Description
This service is for people who polish Japanese swords as a hobby and would like practical instruction and guidance. Have you ever wondered: “Is it okay to continue polishing this way?” “I’d like someone to check my work before I move on to the next stage.” “The finish isn’t turning out as I expected. What am I doing wrong?” During the session, I will look at your actual polishing work and provide specific advice on areas for improvement and how to proceed to the next stage. If you bring the sword you are currently working on, I can provide hands-on instruction, including polishing posture, how to hold and use the stone, hand movements, pressure, and how to progress through each stage of the polishing process. Demonstrations will be provided when helpful. I also offer individual instruction for those who would like to learn from the beginning or study the fundamentals of Japanese sword polishing. Each session is tailored to your experience level and goals, so both beginners and more experienced hobbyists are welcome. ※ This service is for those who are learning Japanese sword polishing as a hobby. It is a technical instruction service, not a sword polishing service.
